Guest of Honor, Mike Carey

Mike CareyMike Carey is a British writer whose work spans comics, novels, film scripts, and TV shows. After writing shorts for British sci-fi comic 2000 AD and a few one-shots for Caliber Comics during the 1990s, he was offered DC/Vertigo’s Lucifer — henceforth the longest running and most successful Sandman-related spinoff to date. While continuing to work with DC on Vertigo series like Crossing Midnight and graphic novels like God Save The Queen, he took over as lead writer for Marvel’s X-Men(now X-Men: Legacy) in 2006. His work includes DC/Vertigo’s Hellblazer, Marvel’sUltimate Fantastic Four, the Felix Castor novels, The Steel Seraglio (with Linda and Louise Carey), and DC/Vertigo’s The Unwritten (with Peter Gross).


Cherie Priest Coming Back to ConFusion!

Photo by Libby BulloffCherie Priest, a former Guest of Honor at ConFusion and Hugo Award-nominated author, will be returning to ConFusion to help make it even more Legendary! Cherie last joined us for "This ConFusion Is Not Yet Rated" in 2011, and we are very excited to have her back with us this coming January.

Cherie Priest is the author of over a dozen novels, including the steampunk pulp adventures The InexplicablesGanymedeDreadnoughtClementine, and BoneshakerBoneshaker was nominated for both the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award; it was a PNBA Award winner, and winner of the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel. Cherie also wrote Bloodshot and Hellbent from Bantam Spectra; Fathom and the Eden Moore series from Tor; and three novellas published by Subterranean Press. In addition to all of the above, her first foray into George R. R. Martin’s superhero universe, Fort Freak (for which she wrote the interstitial mystery), debuted in the summer of 2011. Cherie’s short stories and nonfiction articles have appeared in such fine publications as Weird TalesPublishers Weekly, and numerous anthologies. She lives in Chattanooga, TN, with her husband, a big shaggy dog, and a fat black cat.

Armstrong with M.A.. Marr). Her latest is OMENS, first in the "Cainsville" series--mystery with a supernatural twist. Armstrong lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and far too many pets.
